Bead Hoarders Blog Hop - Reveal:

Yes, I am a Bead Hoarder! Thanking Lori Anderson for this wonderful challenge: It has gotten me started on creating again, and using what's on hand is a great way to stretch one's design ideas. (So are almost 170 other beaders, LOL. I want to visit all the hoppers and will, but it is taking a while!)
First is a necklace from a set of assorted beads already pre-coordinated by Bead Landing. To see the stash I blogged about, click: Here (Purchased on clearance.) I added the copper beads and the central howlite disc from my stash. Easy peasy, just need to decide the arrangement and add the spacers.
Blue - Copper "Color Splash" Necklace - beads from Michaels
I created this first attempt at 'bead weaving' (I think it is actually netting, if you are getting specific), while I was on vacation with my family in June. I dug out the bead stringing thread, needles and little and big crystals from way back in the drawer to take a small project for working on in the mornings. The pattern is by Maria Rypan and is appropriate for beginners.
Correction: It's not netting, just basic bead-weaving, and the pattern name is "Gothic Fringe"

Choker: 8/0 seed beads, 4mm blue crystals, 8mm amber crystal rondelles

Inspired by that necklace, I strung this next necklace on thin bead stringing wire and then created the dangles/fringe using beading thread. I do need to re-do it due to missing a small amount of thread peeking through on one side. The spider disc beads are from a recent bead swap.
Choker: 10/0 seed beads, spider bead discs and bicone crystals
Detail: The clear beads are tiny crystals that were on a string of larger crystal beads (~ sorta freebies!)

Amethyst and Black Dangle Bracelet
And here is a longer necklace, that is unfinished to coordinate with the choker and bracelet
Dangle Necklace - in progress
I had fun and was satisfied with all I created. It helps to have a deadline to work towards! I am going to keep up the creating...

  11. You made some super cool pieces. I'm partial to your blue netted necklace. It reminds me of when I first started beading and made something similar from some magazine instructions. I went a little crazy with that pattern though and made tons and tons of necklaces. I was out of control! Yours is actually much cooler than the ones I made way back when. Well done!

    1. Thank you Jo-Ann! The color scheme just fell together based on what I had on hand. I am so very new to beadweaving, so I'm not sure of terminology. I am just loving the pattern and want to make more similar projects. Next up is 3-Draped Cubes pattern, but with a few substitutions.
